Here is an uncommon addition. I see small ballyhoo’s skipping in the surf and along the passes’. They are a frequent target for both snook and mackerel. This fly, tied on a 4X long shank Mustad 34011 and is just over 4″ in length. The extra metal on the forward part of the hook adds cut-off protection without the addition of wire tipit from those fly robbing beach mackerel. The fly is tied of a durable synthetic with epoxy over the thread. Fish this in very short, quick strips, followed by a long slower strip. If you miss a strike, it sinks fairly level, just let it drop. Add this one to your beach fishing arsenal.
